Viagra

Viagra (sildenafil) is a prescription medication intended for the treatment of sexual disability known as male impotence. Male impotence is also known as erectile dysfunction (actually a more accurate term for it) and is characterized as inability of the patient to achieve an erection that would be hard enough to have sex. This problem can be caused by a number of factors, including psychological ones. Impotence cannot be cured (except for the one resulting from some other treatment – usually temporary) but is successfully treated with up to 80% of all patients responding to therapy with Viagra. However, using Viagra is associated with a number of side effects that need to be taken into consideration. Before you start your treatment, the doctor will need to give you a prescription. Even if you intend to buy Viagra online, seeing a health care provider is recommended. There may be certain aspects of your health important in determining the minimal efficient dose for you. Such medical conditions as sickle cell anemia, leukemia, stomach ulcer, liver disease, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, coronary artery disease, a recent history of a heart attack or stroke, physical deformity of the penis, multiple myeloma, high or low blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, or hemophilia are supposed to be reported to your doctor. Your dose may be adjusted or your health care provider will want to monitor you for side effects. You are not supposed to combined Viagra with HIV protease inhibitors, alpha blockers, seizure medications, nevirapine, beta blockers, anticoagulants, certain barbiturates, cimetidine, certain antifungals, efavirenz, medications for high blood pressure, other medications for erectile dysfunction, or erythromycin, as drug interactions have been reported. Sometimes you can combine Viagra with some of the medicines mentioned, but only at low doses and if told so by your health care provider. Do not change your dose without consulting a health care professional first. Some men are unable to have sex because it can put too much strain on their heart. Make sure you report to our health care provider the following symptoms that you may experience while having sex in case you were recommended to abstain from having sex: dizziness, chest pain, and tingling or numbness in your arms, chest or neck. Viagra is tolerated pretty well by most patients with just a few mild side effects possible at the beginning of the treatment. The following mild side effects are sometimes reported: warmth or redness in your face, neck, back pain, stuffy nose, memory problems, upset stomach, and headache. These symptoms are most likely to go away on their own without any need for your doctor’s interference. More serious side effects are very rare, but you still need to know they are possible. The following ones have been reported so far: nausea, shortness of breath, swelling in your hands, sudden hearing loss, general ill feeling, chest pain, feeling light-headed, irregular heartbeat, vision changes, ringing in your ears, sweating, and sudden vision loss. You need to report any of them to your doctor as soon as you notice them to prevent complications.
